34-Game Streak Ends, Morris Hitless Sunday, August 4th , 2052 Atlanta center fielder Eric Morris went 0-for-4 today in Atlanta's 3-0 triumph over the Brooklyn Dodgers, snapping his 34-game hitting streak. Morris spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later." "I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though." When Morris made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Dodgers manager said of Morris's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." This season Morris is batting .354 with 157 hits, 13 home runs, 57 RBIs, .390 OBP and has scored 96 runs. |
