Streak Finally Over, Spinks Held Hitless Sunday, September 1st , 2052 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 23-game hitting streak, Fresno right fielder Tom Spinks went hitless in 4 at-bats today at Toronto Field. The sudden hitting drought came as the Grizzles took the 10-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. "Nope, it's not magic," Spinks said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." Spinks is hitting .388 in 2052 with 45 RBIs and 14 home runs. |
