EL News: Playoffs begin Monday, September 16th , 2052 What months ago was a dream is now reality. The trade deadline has passed, along with all the GMs' wheeling and dealing. Contract negotiations are on hold. Front office work is all put on the back burner. Now it's time for each club, player, coach and manager to put their imprint on Explorer League history. Nobody will remember the free agent who got away. No one will care about the trade that fell through. People will remember just one thing about the playoffs -- the team that wins the Explorer Cup crown. The Wildcard Series starts today with these matchups: St. Louis Sportsman versus Rochester Spartans, Oklahoma City Whirlwind (BYE), Toronto Blue Jays versus Atlanta Peaches and Fresno Grizzles (BYE). |
