Maldonado Twirls Cobras to Shutout Win Tuesday, May 6th , 2053 Pepe Maldonado led the Glendale Cobras to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Eugene Ducks at Eugene Ballpark today. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Maldonado recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Maldonado yielded 4 hits and had 9 strikeouts and 5 walks in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Eugene manager said.
