Crawfords End Cook's Streak Friday, May 9th , 2053 Annapolis catcher Josh Cook came into today's game against the Pittsburgh Crawfords on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Crawfords did their jobs well, beating the Annapolis Destroyers 2-1 and holding Cook hitless to snap his 25-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old catcher had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Josh did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Destroyers manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 25 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." This season Cook has hit at a .365 clip with 23 RBIs, 5 home runs and 22 runs scored. |
