Morris Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Friday, July 4th , 2053 Win or lose, Dax Morris just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Eugene Ducks shortstop went 1-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 14-5 by the Colorado Springs Avalanche at Eugene Ballpark. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Dax Morris walked in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. In the current season, Morris has put up a .247 batting average with 38 hits, 3 home runs, 19 runs batted in and scored 23 runs. |
