Long Slams 5 Hits for Oklahoma City Friday, July 18th , 2053 Steve Long of the Whirlwind was unstoppable in today's 12-7 victory over the San Antonio Turtles at Whirlwind Alley. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Oklahoma City shortstop after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Steve Long singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Larry McSwain in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
