Paducah Stops McGinnity's Hit Streak Saturday, July 25th , 2054 Vancouver defeated Paducah 11-3 today at Vancouver Field, but saw the 23-game hitting streak of Canadians center fielder Jake McGinnity snapped -- the Tigers held McGinnity hitless in 3 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." This season McGinnity has hit at a .293 clip with 46 RBIs, 12 home runs and 67 runs scored. He has played in 94 games. |
