3-HR Day for Romano Sunday, August 2nd , 2054 Luis Romano was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 10-5 Duluth Knights triumph at Paducah Ballpark today. The 23-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Knights past the Paducah Tigers. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Romano told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The second baseman went 3-for-4, rung up 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Luis Romano hit a two-run home run off José Cavazos in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Curt McGinn in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Soetsu Murayama in the 9th. So far on the season Romano is hitting .235 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 93 hits and played in 102 games. |
