Murphy Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Thursday, August 10th , 2056 Johnny Murphy has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 23-year-old Menlo Park Marauders left fielder extended his streak today to 20 games, going 1-for-5 as Menlo Park got the best of the Savannah Storm at Storm Field, 9-7. "Johnny has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Marauders manager said. Johnny Murphy flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Murphy has collected 133 hits for the Marauders this year, 13 of them home runs. He has also netted 71 RBIs and scored 79 runs while batting .311. |
