Saturday, July 6th , 2058
5 hits in a game has always been a big milestone in baseball -- 5 hits in a game gets a player's name in the record book, win or lose. Hideyuki Sekimoto got his name recorded today, but the Springfield Lincolns picked up the win at Duluth Park, topping the Duluth Knights, 7-3.

"He bushwhacked us," said winning manager . "We were lucky to come out ahead."

Sekimoto, who is tied for 6th in the ULW in total bases with 141, spoke to reporters in the clubhouse following the game, saying his nerves only set in once he was on the cusp of the milestone.

"I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime day," the second baseman said. "I think the coaches could tell I was going to be ready to swing at anything close. That's why my third base coach told me to calm down and wait for a good pitch. That got me back on track."

Hideyuki Sekimoto singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Presently Sekimoto is hitting .329 with 2 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 79 games and scored 40 times.
