Trappers End Achs's Streak Wednesday, June 30th , 2060 The Nampa Stampeders lost to the Vancouver Trappers 8-3 today at Trappers Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Gary Achs's 30-game hitting streak. The center fielder went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Achs, we would win the game," Trappers manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." This year Achs is hitting .337 with 94 hits, 4 home runs, 41 RBIs and has scored 38 runs. |
