Helmers and Rubin Suspended 5 Games Saturday, June 27th , 2065 It was quite a row yesterday at El Paso Park. The Express Remie Helmers and the Trappers Matt Rubin backed up their angry words with a few shoves and a few swings. Then both dugouts raced onto the field and got involved in the fracas. When it was over, only Helmers and Rubin were ejected. As expected they were informed by the league office that they would each have to serve 5-game suspensions for their inappropriate actions. Helmers is batting .301 this season in 71 games with 9 home runs, 36 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 74 hits in 246 at-bats. On the season Rubin has compiled a 1-0 mark with a 4.34 ERA in 0 starts. In pitching 18.2 innings he has 11 strikeouts and 2 walks while limiting the opposition to a .292 batting average. |
