Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Friday, July 3rd , 2065 If there wasn't a history between Yonetoshi Machida of Springfield and Eric Wilder of Duluth, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Machida said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." In 59 games this season Machida has compiled a .235 batting average with 44 hits and 4 home runs. He has also scored 22 times and knocked in 22 runs. In 10 starts this season Wilder has fashioned a 2-6 record and a 8.61 ERA. |
