Nampa-Flagstaff Brawl, Olivier and Vizcarra Suspended Saturday, September 12th , 2065 Yesterday at Stampeders Ballpark Remke Olivier and Manny Vizcarra got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Nampa Stampeders and Flagstaff Venom. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Olivier will have to sit out 3 while Vizcarra would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. In 132 games this season Olivier has compiled a .357 batting average with 189 hits and 16 home runs. He has also scored 88 times and knocked in 70 runs. In pitching stats this season Vizcarra has rung up 7 wins and 11 losses in 29 games. He has an ERA of 5.63 and has fanned 146 batters in 163 innings. |
