ULW Names Mast Most Valuable Pitcher Winner

This past season was very special for Gerbrand Mast of the El Paso Express. He picked up 13 wins against only 3 losses and was chosen the winner of the 2065 West Most Valuable Pitcher.

The 25-year-old Express ace fashioned a fine 3.12 ERA in 22 starts. He threw 156 innings, gave up 132 hits, 41 walks and held opponents to a .228 average. Mast fanned 157 batters this season.

He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 20. Oliver Paredes of the Flagstaff Venom finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Bernardo Lanfranchi of the Fort Collins North Stars finished third with 1 first place vote.
