Big 3-HR Day for Mathieu Saturday, August 2nd , 2070 Alain Mathieu added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Vancouver Trappers. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The Nampa Stampeders fell to the Trappers, 7-5. In his big day at Trappers Field, the Nampa third baseman went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs and scored 3 times. "It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day." Alain Mathieu hit a two-run home run off Ken Schaubert in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Flannery in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Flannery in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
