O'Keeffe Hit Streak Over Tuesday, June 30th , 2071 For once, it was the El Paso Express picking up the slack for Ross O'Keeffe. The club's "offensive catalyst," as El Paso manager has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent and saw his 22-game hitting streak snapped by the Savannah Storm. O'Keeffe was bailed out by the rest of the Express, however, who stopped the Storm, 4-3. The 20-year-old left fielder finished the day 0-for-3, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me." "Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow." Thus far in 2071, O'Keeffe is hitting .342 with 9 home runs, 26 RBIs, 38 runs scored and has compiled a .464 OBP. |
