Blast Off! 3 HR for Nielsen Friday, August 18th , 2045 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Al Nielsen can celebrate. The Tucson Knights catcher powered three into the stands at Trappers Field today against the Vancouver Trappers. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Nielsen told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-4 as the Knights toppled Vancouver by a score of 12-5, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 4 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Tucson manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Al Nielsen hit a two-run home run off Jorge Valarcel in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jorge Valarcel in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Juan Valéncia in the 4th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this year Nielsen has hit .310 with 17 home runs and 55 RBIs. |
