5-Hit Barrage by Reider Saturday, August 3rd , 2047 Nampa Stampeders third baseman Phil Reider banged out 5 hits today, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the New Boston Bruins, 19-17. He went 5-for-6 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Reider said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Phil Reider singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, walked in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
