Bossom Smacks 5 Hits for Knights Friday, August 16th , 2047 Phil Bossom was at the head of a Tucson hit parade today at New Boston Park. The catcher went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Knights to a 13-2 victory over the New Boston Bruins. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Bossom told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Bruins skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Phil Bossom hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. So far this season Bossom has gotten 35 hits in 134 at-bats for a .261 batting average with 3 home runs. His stats include 28 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has played in 42 games. View Boxscore |
