Jake Doss Lost for Season Sunday, July 14th , 2052 The doctors have spoken and Jake Doss of the Savannah Storm didn't like what he heard. The 22-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Doss sustained his season-ending injury during the Philadelphia Stars game yesterday at Storm Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Savannah medical staff reported Doss had a stretched elbow ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 9-10 months. Doss has started 16 times this year, pitched 79.2 innings, fanned 66 batters and walked 67. His current record is 4 wins and 3 losses with a 3.95 ERA. |
