21-Game Streak Ends, Gustafson Hitless Saturday, August 17th , 2052 Fort Collins shortstop Rusty Gustafson was held hitless in today's game by the Vancouver Canadians, but the loss of his 21-game hitting streak was eased by the 4-2 North Stars victory at Fort Collins Ballpark. "I don't care about the streak, and one 0-for-0 day isn't a big deal," he said later. "But I'm going to come in early tomorrow for some extra batting practice to keep this from turning into a slump." For the year Gustafson has hit at a .315 clip with 19 RBIs, 1 home run and 16 runs scored. |
