Monnig Hits in 25 Straight Games Sunday, September 2nd , 2057 The Bend Beavers stopped the Caseyville Fighter Pilots today 3-1 and Mark Monnig collected a base hit yet again. The Bend first baseman finished with 1 hit to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Monnig told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Mark Monnig flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Monnig has a .295 average and a .363 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 149 hits, 10 home runs and driven in 78 runs. |
