Islanders MacMartin Suffers 3-Game Suspension
Saturday, June 8th , 2058
The league commissioner's office has notified the Hilton Head Islanders that right fielder Travis MacMartin has been given a 3-game suspension for his involvement in an incident with the home plate umpire in yesterday's Hilton Head-Tucson game at Tucson Stadium. After being called out on a pitch that he deemed a ball, MacMartin aggressively expressed his displeasure and was promptly ejected from the game.

In the league suspension notice, it stated that he was suspended for making an obscene gesture toward the umpires prior to entering the dugout. The league said that type of behavior would not be tolerated.

MacMartin and the Islanders were unavailable for comment.

MacMartin is hitting .308 this year with no home runs, 1 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 4 hits in 13 at-bats, 2 walks and a .400 on-base percentage. MacMartin has played in 9 games.
