Richter Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 19th , 2058 Artie Richter was at the head of a San Luis Obispo hit parade today at Hilton Head Park. The first baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Saints to a 13-3 victory over the Hilton Head Islanders. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Richter told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Islanders skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Artie Richter singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
