Toledo Halts Montes's Hitting Steak Saturday, August 16th , 2059 The Toledo Ducks did something to Bobby Montes no team had done for the last 20 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Baby Snakes, who came away with the 3-1 victory at Tucson Stadium. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 19-year-old third baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." This season Montes has 7 home runs and a .306 batting average. |
