He may have less experience than most of his Confederation League peers, but that didn't slow Gérard Barbier down at all in 2059.

At the age of 23, the Erie left fielder has been named the winner of the East Most Valuable Hitter.

He had a .309 batting average and a .416 on-base percentage this year. In 136 games he piled up 152 hits, 29 doubles, 2 triples, 30 home runs, 111 RBIs and 101 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 20. Gareth Harper of the San Luis Obispo Saints finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Bobby Stanton of the Erie Brigs finished third.
