Tajima Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 24
Saturday, June 3rd , 2062
For once, it was the Caseyville Fighter Pilots picking up the slack for Yozo Tajima.

The club's "offensive catalyst," as Caseyville manager has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent today and saw his 24-game hitting streak snapped by the Grand Junction Lumberjacks. Tajima was bailed out by the rest of the Fighter Pilots, however, who stopped the Lumberjacks, 5-4.

The 25-year-old first baseman finished the day 0-for-3, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."

"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."

This season in 44 games, Tajima has hit at a .351 clip with 61 hits, 14 home runs, 39 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
