Great Stroke: Waddell Gets 5 Hits Friday, July 12th , 2052 Even as a kid, Quincy Waddell said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Dunkin' Donuts Park today, Waddell showed how well he learned that lesson. The 23-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the San Luis Obispo Saints, helping his team knock off the Hartford Yard Goats by a score of 15-9. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Quincy Waddell singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bob Green in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
