Caine Batters OBX for 5 Hits Friday, May 9th , 2053 All game long, Hilton Head's Ed Caine was rattling the walls at Hilton Head Park and banging out base hits against the OBX Privateers. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Islanders had a 10-2 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 22-year-old center fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Ed Caine singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. Thus far this season in 31 games Caine is batting .242 with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 32 hits in 132 at-bats. View Boxscore |
