Krum Belts Bunch of Base Hits Saturday, August 19th , 2062 Even as a kid, James Krum said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Jacksonville Field today, Krum showed how well he learned that lesson. The 18-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the St. Augustine Suns, helping his team knock off the Jacksonville Rockies by a score of 16-11. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." James Krum hit a solo-shot off Fabian Martine in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a sac fly in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and walked in the 9th. So far this season Krum has hit .345 with 19 home runs, 124 RBIs and scored 120 times. View Boxscore |
