Gardner Belts 5 Hits Wednesday, July 19th , 2045 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Ken Gardner is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Punta Gorda Bulldogs at Bulldog Grounds today. The monster effort from the 20-year-old first baseman helped the Redington Beach Panic take the win, 14-4. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Bulldogs manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Ken Gardner singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year Gardner is hitting .384 with 13 home runs and 69 RBIs to his credit.
