Suns Mastenbroek No-Hits Bulldogs Tuesday, July 23rd , 2047 In a dominant outing, Terry Mastenbroek of the St. Augustine Suns totally silenced the bats of the Punta Gorda Bulldogs, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Suns' 6-0 victory, Mastenbroek faced only 32 batters, surrendered no hits, had 9 strikeouts and 6 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," St. Augustine manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game. "The Suns had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Mastenbroek pitched a heck of a ballgame." To date Mastenbroek is 5-6 in 18 starts with a 3.46 ERA and has 136 strikeouts in 112 innings. View Boxscore |
