Ruggerio Tops National Conference Pitchers Thursday, June 15th , 2056 National Conference hitters didn't have much of a chance in the 2056 season when the Arlington College manager wrote "Matt Ruggerio" on the lineup card. Outing after outing, he held teams in check and usually got a win. He excelled with a 4-2 mark and 2.42 ERA in 13 starts, tossed 67 innings, fanned 97 and held opposing teams to a .234 average. For his superb season Ruggerio was today named the NC Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jonathan Frederick of the Arlington College Hurricanes finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Jerry Burg of the Gatineau College Golden Spikes finished third.
