Rafuse Connects for 3 Homers for Rockies Friday, April 4th , 2064 Laval College Rockies left fielder Mark Rafuse almost did it all today. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 5 runs and had 3 hits in 3 at-bats. The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Rockies to victory. The Oklahoma City College Wardogs escaped with the 11-8 win by the Oklahoma City College despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Rafuse. "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game. Mark Rafuse hit a solo-shot off Chris Branson in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Branson in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Orlando Rodriguez in the 7th and walked in the 8th. "When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Laval College manager . "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the National Conference. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good College League hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it." This season Rafuse is batting .254 with 17 home runs. He has scored 26 runs and driven in 39. |
