Wardogs Gerardo Romero Will Miss Season Wednesday, April 23rd , 2064 The doctors have spoken and Gerardo Romero of the Oklahoma City College Wardogs didn't like what he heard. The 20-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Romero sustained his season-ending injury during the Ft. Wayne College Steamrollers game yesterday at Ballpark of Oklahoma City College. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Oklahoma City College medical staff reported Romero had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 11 months. This season he has made 15 relief appearances, collecting 1 save. Romero has worked 33 innings, yielding 28 hits and giving out 23 free passes while striking out 40. He has a 0-3 record with a 5.18 ERA. |
