Rafuse Swats 3 Homers Thursday, February 26th , 2065 Mark Rafuse went on an explosive hitting spree against the Ft. Wayne College Steamrollers at Rockies Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Laval College Rockies to the 9-3 win. The left fielder finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and 8 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Rafuse said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Ft. Wayne College skipper said Rafuse was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Mark Rafuse grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jon Wiggins in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Brian Hannibal in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Bill Humphries in the 7th. During the current season Rafuse is batting at a .343 clip with 5 home runs and 13 RBIs. He has played in 12 games and scored 12 times. |
