Plaster Rock College Snaps Gonzalez's Streak at 20 Thursday, April 9th , 2065 The Plaster Rock College Whalers did something to Dave Gonzalez no team had done for the last 20 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Weasels, who came away with the 5-2 victory at Ballpark of Corpus Christi College. "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 20-year-old first baseman said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted." During the current season Gonzalez is batting at a .328 clip with 16 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 47 games and scored 31 times. |
