Shock Willie Ortiz Will Miss Season Thursday, April 9th , 2065 Willie Ortiz is doubtful to make the playoffs this year, according to sources within the Stockton College organization. Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 13 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. The 20-year-old reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Gatineau College Golden Spikes. Thus far this season Ortiz has compiled a 1-0 record, made 10 relief appearances with no saves, hurling 25 innings and striking out 29. He has held the opposition to a .207 batting average with a 2.16 ERA. |
