Travis Wertz Out for Season Saturday, April 18th , 2065 The season is finished for Travis Wertz of the Long Beach College Seahawks. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Seahawks reliever suffered a damaged elbow ligament while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Anchorage College Caribous. Team doctors said it would take at least 13 months to heal. For the season Wertz has made 18 relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 3-1 won-lost mark and a 6.23 ERA. In pitching 34.2 innings, he has totaled 38 strikeouts and 19 walks. |
