Hits Galore: Oakley Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, April 2nd , 2069 No matter what the Madison College Sundevils threw at him, Dave Oakley hit it. He easily handled Sundevils pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Hurricanes triumph, 14-8, at Sundevils Field. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Oakley's quip, Sundevils skipper said he "would take him up on that next time." Dave Oakley hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Adrian Dodson in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 8th and tripled in the 9th. So far in 2069 Oakley is batting .319 with 9 home runs, 34 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 160 at-bats and a .415 OBP. View Boxscore |
