3 Boomers for Resendez Monday, April 15th , 2069 Oklahoma City College Wardogs second baseman Danny Resendez sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Santa Ana College Steelhawks, Resendez told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Resendez pushed the Wardogs past the Steelhawks, 7-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Resendez told reporters after the game. Danny Resendez hit a solo-shot off Adam Hayden in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Matt Patterson in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Josh Hermance in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. A look at his season totals shows Resendez with 16 home runs, .281 BA, .450 OBP, 41 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
