Elvin Joins 3-HR Club Monday, May 2nd , 2044 Gordon HS Spartans left fielder Bob Elvin left the San Francisco HS pitching staff in ruins at Sea Lions Ballpark today, beating the Sea Lions 11-4 with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Elvin told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the Gordon HS left fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs. Bob Elvin flied out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Dueñas in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Dennis Brunskill in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ken Hilliard in the 9th. Presently Elvin is hitting .320 with 8 home runs and 18 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 16 times. |
