Fire Ants End Ramírez's Streak Monday, April 24th , 2045 Lady Luck was not on the side of José Ramírez or his teammates today at Ballpark of Manhattan HS. Everything went the way of the Phoenix HS Fire Ants, who not only came away with the 13-8 victory over Manhattan HS, but also held Ramírez hitless in 4 at-bats to put an end to his 22-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Ramírez said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." This season Ramírez is batting .454 with 44 hits, 11 home runs, 34 RBIs, 19 walks, .542 OBP and has scored 26 runs. He has played in 23 games. |
