Féliz Smacks 5 Hits for Monarchs
Tuesday, May 9th , 2045
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, José Féliz said his club's tilt with the Lackland AFB HS Bombers "felt almost like batting practice." The 15-year-old second baseman went a remarkable 5-for-5 at the plate.
"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.
However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Manhattan HS Monarchs, who were topped by the Bombers, 5-3.
"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Monarchs manager said. "Sometimes José is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-5 and lose than go 0-for-5 and lose."
José Féliz singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chris Moore in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year Féliz has hit .344 with 8 home runs, 23 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
