Nichols Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, May 24th , 2045 After a 5-hit effort to lead Ft. Worth HS's 11-2 victory over the St. Louis HS Blues, right fielder Caden Nichols told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the AFBL High School-level is really something special." The 17-year-old player earned his accolades today at St. Louis Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Blues. "His swing is getting there," said Falcons skipper , who spoke glowingly of Nichols after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Caden did that to perfection today." Caden Nichols doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Nichols is batting .259 with 37 hits, 3 home runs, 16 RBIs, 21 walks, .355 OBP and has scored 27 runs. View Boxscore |
