van Aerden Stretches Hit String to 20 Sunday, April 21st , 2047 Kamiel van Aerden's hitting streak is becoming the talk of Manhattan HS. The 14-year-old right fielder extended it once again today, this time bringing it to 20 games with a 3-for-5 performance against the Markesan HS Gaels. The Monarchs took the game, 9-6. "People are starting to bring it up to me when I'm around town," he said. "It's getting stressful." Kamiel van Aerden hit a two-run double in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. In 20 games this season van Aerden has compiled a .462 batting average with 43 hits and no home runs. He has also scored 22 times and knocked in 20 runs. |
