Hornets End Gaines's Streak Wednesday, May 22nd , 2047 Charlie Gaines, right fielder for the Boston HS Mulleteers, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Houston HS Hornets today. Not only did the Hornets break his 28-game hitting streak, they also beat Boston HS by the score of 3-1. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Gaines said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Currently Gaines is batting .460 with 13 home runs and 51 RBIs. |
