Snyder on Fire: 5-for-6 for Markesan HS Saturday, April 24th , 2049 Even as a kid, Jake Snyder said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Gaels Stadium today, Snyder showed how well he learned that lesson. The 16-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Markesan HS Gaels, helping his team knock off the Sacramento HS Rivercats by a score of 22-18. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Jake Snyder singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Steve Flowers in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
